Counting Balusters in #Revit with #DynamoBIM

A question came up over at the Dynamo forums regarding obtaining baluster counts with Dynamo.
Well, Revit can’t do this on it’s own or through the API. But, Dynamo can.
Luckily we can extract solids and get the directionality of those solids.(Note: this doesn't work for wacky geometry balusters at this time)
There’s another addition to the list of things Revit can’t do. (On it’s own)Smile

#DynamoBIM 0.9.1–Ooh Shiny

Dynamo is now at a stable release of 0.9.1!

This is exciting because there are always new features.

A few of my favorite include:

  1. Control Drag, Copy
  2. Icon fixes for multiple packages
  3. Hover Preview + Pin

One of my least favorite (but necessary) features is this.

That being said, I am going to be publishing Rhythm under this build until the next stable build. So please keep this in mind.

The final version of Rhythm that is compatible with 0.9.0 is version 2016.2.8

Go download the new version and have fun!

Having Fun with #DynamoBIM Customizer

Every now and then I like to take some time to test out some features in Dynamo and “play around”, while learning of course.

Today I managed to make this cool little parametric spring after reading this blog post from RTC regarding an awesome bridge designed in Dynamo.

To get the reverse midway toggle to work I used an IF statement. If you have ever used an IF statement in Dynamo, you know it is quite a pain.

I was going to share this on the Dynamo customizer but it appears to be broken, so here is a link to the graph.

Have fun!

Variable output in #DynamoBIM with Rhythm

I added this node to Rhythm a while back and never really shared it. It simply takes a boolean and outputs one of two options. (ThisOrThat)
