The datasets have now been uploaded to the RTC website and I have also made them available here.
If you download the data set from the link above, you get a bonus Rhythm for Dynamo commercial that has been modified to include someone who is very passionate about the subject. (Caution it has sound)

A while back on twitter there was a joke regarding the hashtag, #theresanodeforthat.
Jolstein Olsen made a joke by creating a Mother Teresa node called “TeresaNode”. This started to make me think, “What if we created a node that pulled quotes from somewhere?”.
Enter the web request node.
Initially I began making quote nodes from various people.
But I soon made it searchable!
What the definition basically does is get the home page of quotes for the searched individual and pulls all of the quotes. This is pulling from http://www.brainyquote.com/ by the way.
After removing some of the extra junk we can then get a random index of the list, producing a random quote.
Check out the animation and graph below and have fun! And of course this is now in Rhythm.
Another thing I thought of is this isn’t necessarily a waste of time, because this represents the power we have to read data from external resources with DynamoBIM!

Upon registration for RTC this year there was one simple question added regarding something you did that was innovative this year.
Considering I had just learned Dynamo at AU2014 and just released the Rhythm package for Dynamo in February, I considered that the most innovative thing I did.
When all of the submissions were narrowed down and videos created, there were eight finalists.
My video was one of them and was allowed to be played at the Gala dinner.
Unfortunately I didn’t win, but it was some amazing advertisement for both DynamoBIM and Rhythm.
After the “commercial” aired, I had Matt Jezyk and Zach Kron ask me if the video was available anywhere. You can now view it below and thank you everyone for interest in Rhythm and DynamoBIM! (Note: there is no sound in the video because they requested it purely be text. (They did play it with AC/DC’s “Back in Black” playing in the background though

After a great week at RTCNA, (both attending classes and presenting workflows) I have a couple of updates.
I attended a great class by Marcello Sgambelluri called Design Script for Dummies. He is a great presenter and really makes everything understandable to everyone.
One thing I noticed is he has a common gripe regarding the case sensitive nature of getting and setting parameters in Revit with Dynamo.
After some thought (in a dream) I realized, “Hey, we have all of the nodes to do this already!”
So now we have the ability to use this regardless of text case. See below for the graph.
This was a great conference to attend and I look forward to seeing you all at the next one!
