RTCNA 2015- Optimize| Dynamo for Building Performance

RTCNA 2015 Class “Implementing a Building Performance Optimization Workflow” aka iBPOW!

Long title, but it represents a lot of information.

Next week at RTCNA 2015 my BIM manager and I will be teaching a class on optimizing your workflow for building performance. (Session 3.4, Saturday July 25th, 2:30pm)
We are going to start out by showing everyone a lot of helpful hints and tricks on how to adapt this workflow for every project you do. We will then wrap up with some very helpful optimization tips using DynamoBIM. This will be about the last 15-30 minutes of the presentation.
The Dynamo workflows shown are something a beginner or intermediate Dynamo user can begin to recreate and expand upon.
I have been using Dynamo since AU2014 after taking Marcello’s beginner classes and have came up with the workflows over the last 6 months. This is why I fell like the average Dynamo user can start to interpret the workflows. Dynamo is something that can help us be more efficient and streamline mundane processes.

Some Help in Revit with Rhythm

There’s a new update for Rhythm today. I included some pretty useful stuff that includes OS functions and some help (Ayuda)

These nodes also open up the possibility to skip file path nodes to determine various things in the current file.

Better Screenshots in Dynamo

Currently when you want to share an image of a large Dynamo graph with other users you have a couple of options. You can zoom out and capture the whole thing but begin to lose image quality. Or, you can take several screenshots and stitch them together which isn’t great either.
The other day I was sharing a graph with a user over at the DynamoBIM forums and realized I should stretch the canvas over both monitors to capture more of the graph and then screenshot from there.

I know it’s a simple observation, but hey it can save some frustrations until there is a proper export command.
